With the rapid development of the electronic component industry market, users have increasingly high requirements for connector performance. How to improve the existing connector to meet the higher performance requirements of light weight, durability, high speed, reliability, safety, and resistance to harsh environments? We can start from the following seven aspects:

1. At the initial stage of design, the connector shall be tested for many times to accurately quantify the connector performance.
2. When designing connectors, try to minimize the short wires in the contact area.
3. Simplify connector contact points and improve signal path performance.
4. Shorter lead wire length is used to reduce the signal loss of the connector.
5. Increase the asymmetric footprint and contact to reduce the paired crosstalk between connector pins.
6. If space allows, add a common grounding plane to the connector.
7. The shorter the signal path and the straighter the connector contact, the better the signal integrity performance.
